Rosa Taboada works with film. Her first photographs were made for Anthropology fieldwork during her Philosophy studies, and in Paris, during a residency at the Colegio de España (Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris).

Her practice with analog and historical processes developed in workshops with Isabel Muñoz and Ralph Gibson (Vancouver). She attended a workshop with Paolo Roversi at Les Rencontres d’Arles (France) and, in a later edition, was chosen by Christian Caujolle.

She films in digital (Sony FX3, Alpha 7S III) with manual lenses (Sony, Voigtländer), but above all on film: Super 8 and 16 mm (ARRI SR3), with Kodak Portra, Ilford and Polaroid. Her images are built on atmosphere: a poetic attention to light, texture and time.

In 2021 she founded the production company Martela Films. In 2022 and 2023 she was invited to “Meet Them” at the San Sebastián Film Festival Industry Club. “Espontaneadas” and “O Aire” (selected for LRN 2025), her first feature films, are now in development. She is a member of CIMA.
